Semaglutide Injections at Cosmetica Med Spa

Semaglutide in Boca Raton, Florida

Semaglutide is in a group of medications that are known as GLP-1 RAs (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors agonists). These medications trigger insulin production, lowering blood sugar levels, which is why they are often used to treat type 2 diabetes.

In higher doses, these drugs work on the brain to suppress appetite, making users feel full sooner. As a result, people on these medications eat much less. This can result in substantial weight loss, and this can be life-changing for people who have struggled with their weight for years.

Wegovy is the only semaglutide that is FDA approved for weight loss currently. Other popular brands, like Ozempic and Rybelsus, are used off-label for weight loss as well. These drugs are incredibly effective at helping people lose weight.

These medications are usually given via subcutaneous injection on a weekly basis. At Cosmetica Med Spa, we can guide you through the treatment process, helping you to finally achieve the weight loss you want.

How Does Semaglutide Help You Lose Weight?

Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, and this hormone influences how hungry and full you feel. When you use semaglutide, you simply won’t feel as hungry, and you won’t struggle with cravings like you normally do.

You’ll feel full sooner, which means that you will consume fewer calories overall. Since you aren’t pestered by cravings for junk food or sugar, you’ll also make healthier food choices overall.

Semaglutide has been called a game-changing medication by experts. Studies have repeatedly shown that participants on semaglutide lose 15 to 20 percent of their body weight on average. The effects with semaglutide are unlike any seen with prior weight loss medications.
