Hormone therapy near Boynton Beach

HRT for women and TRT for men, guided by your labs

Hormone changes tend to sneak up on you: sleep that doesn't refresh, energy that fades by mid-afternoon, a mood or sex drive that isn't what it was. At Cosmetica Med Spa in north Boca Raton, women and men from Boynton Beach start with bloodwork, not a guess. Both memberships are $100 a month, overseen by our medical director, Dr. Andrei Gherghina.

For women: HRT

Perimenopause can start years before your last period, and it rarely follows the textbook. Symptoms vary from woman to woman: for some it starts with sleep, for others with mood changes or night sweats. Your provider reviews your symptoms, history and labs, then prescribes hormones matched to you.

For many women, HRT is safe and effective when it's started at the right time and monitored. The risks depend on your age, health history and the type of therapy, and your provider goes through them with you before anything is prescribed. Relief usually builds over several weeks.

For men: TRT

Low testosterone is diagnosed with blood tests, not symptoms alone, because tiredness and low drive overlap with stress and poor sleep. Testosterone runs highest in the morning, so we test early in the day and confirm with a second test. Under American Urological Association guidelines, a total testosterone below about 300 ng/dL, together with symptoms, points to low testosterone.

OptionHow it works
InjectionsOn a set schedule, usually weekly or every other week. We show you how and where to inject
CreamApplied to the skin once a day. Cover the area and wash your hands so it doesn't transfer to a partner or children
PelletsPlaced under the skin of the hip or buttock in a quick in-office procedure. They release testosterone for about 3 to 6 months
TimelineWhat many men notice
3 to 6 weeksBetter energy, mood and sex drive
3 to 6 monthsChanges in muscle, strength and body fat, much bigger with strength training and good nutrition

What to know before TRT

TRT lowers sperm production, so it isn't the right choice if you're planning to have children soon. It may also not be right for men with certain cancers, untreated severe sleep apnea or uncontrolled heart failure. Possible side effects include a higher red blood cell count, acne, fluid retention and worse sleep apnea, which is exactly why we monitor your labs. With proper testing, it's a well-established treatment: the 2023 TRAVERSE trial found no increase in major heart events in men with low testosterone and higher heart risk.

Where your testosterone comes from

You choose. We can call your prescription in to your own pharmacy, including one near you in Boynton Beach, or you can use one of our partner pharmacies. We don't mark up testosterone or push add-ons. The membership covers our medical oversight, and the medication is between you and the pharmacy.

Monitoring, and why it matters

Hormone therapy isn't a one-time prescription. For TRT, follow-up labs come more often in the first months, then about twice a year, tracking your levels along with markers like red blood cell count and PSA. HRT follow-ups track your symptoms and labs so your plan can be adjusted as you go.

Pairing it with other care

Hormones often sit alongside other goals. Some Boynton clients combine them with medical weight loss, peptide therapy or PRP for men. Your provider will tell you what fits your labs and what doesn't.

Easy to fit around a Boynton commute

Morning labs matter for testosterone, and we open at 8am every day, so you can stop in on the way to work. I-95 south to Yamato Road is the usual route; from east Boynton, Federal Highway south through Delray Beach works just as well. Either way, parking is free in front of the med spa.

Questions from Boynton Beach clients

How much does hormone therapy cost near Boynton Beach?

The HRT and TRT memberships are each $100 a month for medical supervision and check-ins. Hormones or testosterone and bloodwork are billed separately, and your provider reviews every cost before you start.

Does insurance cover it?

Hormone therapy at Cosmetica is self-pay, so we don't bill insurance.

How do I know if my hormones are the problem?

Symptoms overlap with stress, sleep and other conditions, so we start with bloodwork. Your provider reviews the results with you.

What labs do you check for TRT?

Total testosterone, tested in the morning and confirmed with a second test, plus safety markers such as red blood cell count and PSA.

Can I use my own pharmacy for testosterone?

Yes. We can send your prescription to your local pharmacy or one of our partner pharmacies. We don't mark up testosterone.

Do you offer testosterone pellets?

Yes. Pellets are placed under the skin in a quick in-office procedure and last about 3 to 6 months. Injections and cream are also options.

Does TRT affect fertility?

Yes. Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production. If you plan to have children, talk with your provider before starting.

Can I stop TRT later?

Yes, with your provider's guidance. Your body makes less of its own testosterone while you're on TRT, so symptoms can return when you stop.

How long until I feel a difference?

Many men notice better energy and mood within 3 to 6 weeks on TRT. HRT symptom relief often builds over several weeks. Results vary.
