Tirzepatide (Zepbound), prescribed and monitored in person

Weight loss medication works best when someone is watching how your body responds to it. At Cosmetica Med Spa in north Boca Raton, 20 to 30 minutes from most of Boynton Beach, we prescribe tirzepatide (Zepbound), run your labs before you start and see you in person as your dose goes up. The membership is $100 a month.

Brand-name Zepbound from the manufacturer

Tirzepatide is the active ingredient. Zepbound is the FDA-approved version made by Eli Lilly, and it's what our program uses. Many cheaper offers you'll see in the area, especially online ones, are compounded versions made by pharmacies. If you're comparing programs, ask each one exactly which product you'd be taking and where it comes from.

The first 12 weeks

Tirzepatide starts low and climbs slowly, which gives your body time to adjust and keeps side effects easier to manage.

WhenWhat happens
Before you startConsultation, health history and bloodwork. If it's a fit, our team shows you how to use the pen
Weeks 1 to 42.5 mg once a week, the FDA starting dose. Many people notice a quieter appetite within the first few weeks
Weeks 5 to 8If you're doing well, your provider may raise the dose to 5 mg
Week 9 onwardFurther 2.5 mg steps, at least 4 weeks apart, up to 15 mg, only when your provider decides it makes sense

Your weekly routine

  • Pick one day of the week and keep it.
  • Inject under the skin of your stomach, thigh or upper arm, and rotate between them.
  • Store your pens exactly as the pharmacy instructions say.
  • Missed a dose? Under the Zepbound label, take it within 4 days. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next one on your usual day.

Eating on tirzepatide

Your appetite gets quieter, which helps only if what you do eat keeps you strong. A few habits make the biggest difference:

  • Eat smaller meals and stop as soon as you feel full. Eating past full is a common trigger for nausea.
  • Go easy on fried, greasy and very sweet foods, especially in the days after a dose increase.
  • Build each meal around protein to protect your muscle.
  • Drink water steadily through the day, more so in a Florida summer.
  • Add strength training two or three times a week if you can.

Side effects, and when to call us

Nausea, diarrhea, constipation and feeling full quickly are the common ones, and they tend to show up when you start or move up a dose. Most ease as your body adjusts. If they don't, tell us and your provider can slow your schedule.

Get medical care right away for severe stomach pain that won't go away, pain in your upper right belly, yellowing skin or eyes, a lump in your neck, trouble swallowing, or signs of an allergic reaction.

Searching for semaglutide in Boynton Beach?

Plenty of people start by searching for semaglutide (Ozempic or Wegovy). Tirzepatide works on the same GLP-1 pathway plus a second one, GIP. In SURMOUNT-5, a 72-week head-to-head trial, people taking tirzepatide lost about 20% of their body weight on average, compared with about 14% on semaglutide. Our semaglutide vs. tirzepatide guide has the details.

Who it's for

Zepbound is FDA approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol. It's also approved for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity. The program is open to both men and women.

It isn't used if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer, if you have MEN 2, or if you're pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Tell us about any history of pancreatitis, gallbladder problems or kidney disease, and we'll factor it into your plan.

Keeping the weight off

Weight often comes back if the medication simply stops. When you reach your goal, your provider builds a maintenance plan with you, whether that's a steady dose or a gradual step down, while you keep the habits that got you there.

Pairing it with other treatments

Some Boynton clients add care alongside their plan: lipo shots for small, stubborn pockets once they're near their goal, hormone therapy when labs point to it, or an IV drip on a hot day. Your provider will tell you what makes sense and what doesn't.

Fitting it into a Boynton schedule

The injection happens at home, so there's no weekly drive. You come in for check-ins and labs, and since we're open every day from 8am to 8pm, those can fall on a Saturday morning or your way home from work. From west Boynton or east near Ocean Avenue, most clients take I-95 south to Yamato Road, then head east to Federal Highway. Parking is free, right outside our door in the Sanctuary Shoppes.

More for Boynton Beach clients

Other treatments Boynton clients pair with weight loss: IV therapy, hormone therapy, laser hair removal and microneedling. Directions and the full treatment list are on our Boynton Beach page.

Questions from Boynton Beach clients

Is there a tirzepatide provider near Boynton Beach?

Yes. Cosmetica Med Spa is in north Boca Raton, about 20 to 30 minutes from most of Boynton Beach. We prescribe tirzepatide (Zepbound) through a $100 monthly membership with in-person check-ins.

How much does medical weight loss cost near Boynton Beach?

The membership is $100 a month for medical supervision and check-ins. Zepbound is bought directly from Eli Lilly at its self-pay price, and bloodwork is billed separately. Your provider reviews every cost before you start.

Is your tirzepatide compounded?

No. Our program uses Zepbound, the brand-name, FDA-approved tirzepatide made by Eli Lilly, bought directly from Lilly.

Do I have to come in every week?

No. You take the injection at home once a week. You come in for check-ins and labs, and we're open every day from 8am to 8pm.

Do you take insurance?

We don't bill insurance. The program is self-pay, and we accept cash, all major credit cards and payment plans through Cherry and CareCredit.

How quickly will I lose weight?

Most people notice less hunger within the first few weeks, and weight loss builds over months as the dose increases. In clinical trials, adults on the highest dose lost about 20% of their body weight over 72 weeks. Results vary.

Can tirzepatide replace diet and exercise?

No. It's FDA approved for use alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity. It makes those changes much easier to stick with.

How long will I stay on tirzepatide?

It depends on your goals and progress. Many people continue at a maintenance dose, because weight often returns if the medication stops without a plan.

What if I miss a dose?

Under the Zepbound label, take it within 4 days of the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take your next dose on your usual day.

Can men join the program?

Yes. The program is for adult men and women who meet the FDA criteria, and your provider confirms eligibility at your consultation.
