How they work
Deoxycholic acid is a substance your body naturally uses to break down dietary fat. Injected into a small area of fat, it breaks down the fat cells there, and your body gradually clears them away over the following weeks.
What you should know
The deoxycholic acid we use is compounded, meaning it's prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Kybella, the FDA-approved brand of deoxycholic acid, is approved only for fat under the chin, so using deoxycholic acid on the body is considered off-label. Your provider will review your health history and explain what to realistically expect before treatment.

What to expect
After the area is cleansed and numbed, a series of small injections is placed across the treatment area. Most appointments take about 20 to 30 minutes. Swelling, tenderness, redness and some bruising or numbness are common for several days and can last up to about two weeks, so plan around events.

Most people need one to three sessions, spaced about four to six weeks apart, depending on the size of the area.
Results
