How it works
A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Platelets contain growth factors that help your body repair tissue. During microneedling, tiny channels are created in the skin and the PRP is applied so it can work deep in the skin, stimulating collagen and renewal.
PRP is also used in other areas of medicine, including sports medicine and wound healing, to support the body's natural repair process.
What to expect at your appointment
Blood draw. A quick draw from your arm, similar to routine lab work.
Numbing. A numbing cream is applied while your PRP is prepared.
Treatment. Microneedling and PRP are applied across your face. The full visit takes about 60 to 90 minutes.
Afterward. Skin looks pink, like a mild sunburn, for one to three days. Avoid makeup for 24 hours and use gentle skin care and SPF.
Results
Skin looks brighter within about a week, and firmness and texture continue to improve for months as new collagen forms. Individual results vary.
