What is NAD+?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every cell. Your cells use it to turn food into energy and to help repair DNA. Your body makes it from vitamin B3 (niacin) and related nutrients, which is why it's sometimes linked to the B vitamins (see the National Institutes of Health fact sheet on niacin). Research shows NAD+ levels in many tissues fall as we get older, which is why it gets so much attention in healthy aging research (see this review published through the National Library of Medicine).
Why people book NAD+ IV therapy

What the research says so far
We'd rather tell you what's known than oversell it. NAD+ itself is well studied in the lab. NAD+ given by IV has only been studied in small, early trials:
- A 2019 pilot study infused NAD+ slowly over 6 hours in healthy adults. Blood NAD+ levels didn't change until after the first 2 hours, one reason infusions are given slowly (Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2019).
- A small 2024 pilot trial of 500 mg NAD+ IV found the infusion averaged about 3 hours, and most people felt temporary effects such as nausea, chest tightness or cramping. It hasn't yet been peer reviewed (medRxiv preprint, 2024).
- No large trials have shown that NAD+ IV therapy improves energy, focus or aging, and NAD+ infusions aren't FDA approved to treat any condition.
If you're curious and healthy, NAD+ can be a reasonable thing to try with a medical team. If you want a drip with clearer benefits for hydration, our IV therapy menu or a vitamin shot may fit better, and your provider will tell you honestly.

Your NAD+ visit, step by step
- Book online or call. A $100 deposit holds your time and is credited to your visit. Plan for 2 to 3 hours, or longer at 500 mg.
- Get ready. Eat a light meal, drink water and bring a list of your medications and supplements. Bring something to read or work on.
- Health screening. Your provider reviews your health history, medications and goals, and confirms your dose.
- IV placement. A small, flexible catheter is placed in your arm. Most people feel a quick pinch.
- A slow infusion. NAD+ is started slowly and adjusted to how you feel. Tell your provider if you feel flushing, chest tightness, nausea or cramping. Slowing the drip usually eases it within minutes.

Side effects and safety
Common, temporary effects during the infusion include flushing or warmth, chest or stomach tightness, nausea, cramping, headache and the urge to use the bathroom. They're usually tied to the drip rate and settle when it's slowed. Mild bruising at the IV site can happen and fades in a few days.
NAD+ isn't right for everyone. Let us know if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, are being treated for cancer, have heart, kidney or liver disease, or take medications that affect blood pressure. Your screening is there to keep you safe, and your provider may recommend something else.
